Story time...

Around here, we love to read.

Sitting down with your kids is such a special time. I mean, really… how often do you pull your kids into your lap and have some quality, undistracted time with them anymore?

I know you're busy.

I know THEY'RE busy.

It's so hard to get kids to sit still.
They don't even like to sit still when they're eating!

That's why we love story time.

They sit. They focus. They ask questions.

So, today I'm sharing some of our favorite books.
(Any of these would make great gifts for baby showers, birthdays, or holidays!)

We have to start with Sandra Boynton's books.
They are so adorable. As you can see, ours are SO worn. They are definitely loved. The kids go for these books more than others. I think it's because the adult reading them can't help but come up with a little tune/beat to read the books with. They are just so fun!

The Belly Button Book

Barnyard Dance!
Pajama Time!

Next are the Duck & Goose books by Tad Hills. My husband's sister first introduced us to these books and I'm so glad she did.
The illustrations in these books are why I love them.

Seriously! How cute are those little guys?!

Story Time for Lamb by Michael Dahl
This next book is the one I read to the Little Miss at night. It is just so sweet. I really want to get more books by this author.

The Armor of God by Dandi Daley Mackall
The Armor of God book is great because it sticks to the passage in Ephesians about the armor of God and shows kids different situations it can be used in. I'm so glad our son loves this one enough to almost have it memorized!

By the way, this book has been taped up so many times, I've lost count. We love it!

Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker and Tom Lichtenheld
The next book is one of our new fav's. The Little Mister got it for Christmas (again from the best-book-giving-aunt). The illustrations are adorable and the story is all about different construction vehicles so little boys eat it up. It's a really good bedtime book.

The Little Blue Truck books by Alice Schertle
Another gift from some aunts who know how to buy good books for little boys. Each of these stories have a really good moral. Really really cute books. The original one was one of the first books the Little Mister had completely memorized.

Cowboy Small by Lois Lenski
Good Night Cowboy by Glenn Dromgoole
These are sweet little books if you have a little cowboy in your life.

Tiny Bear's Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones
This little Bible breaks down stories in the Bible into little rhymes. Another good one for bedtime.. or anytime!
They also have a little girl version.

Hope you found something new for a little person in your life!
