I love this picture. We were having so much fun when I got this shot. The horse she rides is so kind and so playful that the shoot was so easy that we were able get SO many pictures! Hope you like it  :)

CAPTIONS!!!

Ok, so we were out at the horses today and I was able to capture so many funny pictures of the little cowpoke, our dog and my hubby. I narrowed it down to 10 photos and now I'm hoping you'll all play a game with me. Leave a comment on the bottom of this post with the number of each photo and what you think the caption for the photo should be (or as many as you come up with - you don't have to do one for every photo).

I put a few of my own on to get you started.

Make me laugh!

"ok, dad you cover the back, mom take the side entrance, cooper - you're with me. everybody - on my go. ready? 1, 2, 3!!!"

"you want me to rope a WHAT?!"

"mom said something about pizza. wonder if they'll drop any. yum yum!"

"man, we gotta get a cow!"

"no mom! not another picture!"

I'll post my favorites later!

Father's Day

Father's Day weekend was spent at our parents' houses for my sister's graduation party and some family time. I didn't do the greatest getting my camera out this weekend but I did take my boys to the park for a father-son shoot. Unfortunately, they rarely look at the camera at the same time! Here's what I got:

LC loves looking at the truck with his daddy!

And, these were taken in the morning on Friday before we made the drive down:

Just like daddy!

Love them.

oh yeah....

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that the other night during the last NBA Finals game L.C. started saying 'basketball'!!! Only, it sounds more like 'bad-i-bow' but it's still so cute!!!!

long week

Well, our long, crappy week is over. Thankfully. It's been a hard one.

I told myself that yesterday would be the start of a better week and so far it has been.

We went to church and the lil' cowpoke did great in the nursery. The sermon was just exactly what I needed to hear, thanks Pastor Paul! We had lunch with one of our favorite families: the Storby's. And dinner with my core 4... which led to some much needed girl time.  :)

Today was the L.C.'s 18 month check up. He's doing great. Everything is as it should be and he's even reached the 45th percentile in one category! He's getting so big!

We headed out to the barn after that since Mary is out of town and the horses need some looking after.

Cooper loves to be out there.

I love the hands behind his back when talking to his daddy  :)

Might be my favorite picture.

Or this one

My whole life is on that horse.

And, I should specify that we had a good weekend last weekend. My sweet baby sister finally graduated from high school. I'm so proud of her and the woman she is.

Way to go, Pheeny!

the things i see...

today i took the lil' cowpoke for a walk to the park. we kept walking for a while afterwards. not only did i see a 6-7 year old chubby little boy running around his front yard wearing nothing but his socks but we saw a girl who couldn't have been more than 9 stop dead in her tracks and holler out to her 2 little buddies, 'oh no! i forgot my cell phone!!!'

really?!

summer

Summer coming makes me feel a little restless. Like I'm supposed to be doing something. Maybe I just haven't grown up enough yet. I guess I haven't been out of college for that long, but I feel like I should be moving somewhere, going to camp, going on a summer project, going to the beach, vacationing, SOMETHING!

So now I have to figure out what to do with this restlessness and an 18 month old cowpoke.

I know he'll keep me busy but that doesn't change the fact that my desire for adventure won't be satisfied this summer. There's something about going some place new, where you've never been, and learning about that place. The people, the culture, etc. Even if it's in America. People in the mountains are very different from people on the beach who are very different from people who live in the city.

I guess I'm trying to say I miss exploring.

Now, the extend of my exploring is trying to find the place where the cowpoke stashed all the toys, socks, snacks, etc.

NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING. He's a great little adventure. I love seeing him learn new things and try new things. He is absolutely AMAZING.

I'm just saying. You get it, right?

Trust me, he's quite the adventure:

Memorial Day Weekend

We had ourselves a wonderful crazy weekend! I sang at church (which takes up about 3 hours on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday) so that was a big chunk of the weekend but we kept pretty busy in addition to that.

Friday night John pulled an extra shift at work. It's great since we need the money but sad because we miss him. Now ANYTIME a diesel engine is driving down the street (even if the truck is still in the driveway), the cowpoke hollers out, "dada, dada!" and runs to the front window to see if its him. (oh yeah, and he started saying his name last night when we went swimming)   :)

Saturday we didn't do too much. I went to church, we went to the park. It was low key and awesome.

We took a trip to the wildlife sanctuary with some of our dear friends, the Leatherberry's on Sunday.

This parent was VERY protective.
There were baby geese everywhere!

This melts me. Every time.

Little J and the cowpoke watching some bobcats.

He liked looking at the animals.
He got his first skinned knee while we were there.

Daddy to the rescue!

A kiss from Daddy and the knee was all better!

It was a good day  :)

Monday I went to get trained at what will be my part time job this summer. The cowpoke needed a nap, so we put him down and when he got up we headed out to see the horses.

This is what happens when a cowboy sees his baby boy:

This is what happens when a cowboy chews bubble gum:

This is better:

The cowpoke is OBSESSED with tractors.
Seriously, he picks J over me all the time, but if there's a tractor around we get bumped to spots #2 and #3 in his little heart.

The cowpoke and the lady that makes all this possible in our lives.  :)

After spending the afternoon out there, we went to dinner at the home of one of my Core 4 girlies. It was a great night of relaxing and enjoying the comforts of their friendships. And, our hubbies were there! We were missing one couple and are hoping their weekend went ok.

John and I really enjoyed the weekend together, too. We don't get all that much time together so I'm really glad we didn't travel this weekend. It was refreshing. We laughed and hung out like friends! It was wonderful. I've really missed him lately and this was just so nice.  :)
